What you will learn
You learn ITIL's concepts and principles and how organizations create value with their digital products and services: value streams, the product and service lifecycle, the guiding principles, continual improvement, and how AI affects governance and delivery. We also look at how ITIL works alongside DevOps, Agile, and other frameworks.
The course suits people who work in development, operations, support, or delivery of IT services, and people on the business side who commission, manage, or lead digital services.
Who teaches
I'm Dane Thomas, Senior Management Consultant at BiTA Service Management in Stockholm. I'm an ITIL Master in both ITIL 4 and ITIL (Version 5), an accredited instructor, and I have delivered more than 400 courses since 2012. I'm a native English speaker, have lived in Sweden since 1998, and teach in both English and Swedish.
A few years ago, when the global pass rate for ITIL 4 Foundation was about 89 percent, my participants' pass rate at that time was about 94 percent, even though nearly all of them took the exam in English with Swedish or another language as their first language. Still, the exam isn't the goal. The goal is that you can use what you learn to make a real difference at work.
What participants say
“I just wanted to thank you for your brilliant teaching and your golden words throughout the course. Without hesitation, I can place you in my top five teachers of all time. I'm officially done with ITIL and got certified this morning, and it's largely thanks to you.”
Dimitrije Dobrijevic, Junior Solution Implementer, Devoteam Sweden, ITIL (Version 5) Foundation
“Thank you, Dane, for these two inspiring and insightful days filled with valuable knowledge, engaging discussions, and new perspectives. Your expertise and enthusiasm truly shine through when you are teaching.”
Katarina Wigge, Process Manager, PostNord, ITIL (Version 5) Foundation
Frequently asked questions
What does ITIL Foundation cost?
At BiTA the course costs SEK 21,750 excluding VAT, including the exam voucher, the ITIL e-book, and course materials. Most training companies in Stockholm charge about the same. The booking page always shows the current price.
ITIL 4 or ITIL (Version 5): which should I choose?
ITIL (Version 5), often called ITIL 5, is the current version and the Foundation course offered today. If you already hold ITIL 4 Foundation, you don't need to take the full course again. The one-day ITIL Foundation Bridge (Version 5) updates your certification. Not sure? Try the Course Advisor.
Can I take the course in English?
Yes. My open courses in Stockholm are currently taught in Swedish, but the course materials and the exam are in English either way. I teach ITIL Foundation in English for teams and organizations, on-site in Stockholm or online. For an open course in English, the Course Advisor lists upcoming English-language dates from other training providers.
Classroom in Stockholm or online?
In the classroom you meet participants from other organizations and discuss your real cases, and that is where most people get the most out of the course. Online suits you if you can't travel or want to save time. The content and the certification are the same.
Do I need any prior knowledge?
No. The course is an introduction and requires no previous experience with ITIL. If you have worked with IT services, you will recognize a lot of it, and that helps.
