ITIL and service management training in Stockholm and online

Services / Training

Training is one of the ways I work with organizations, and the one I have done longest. I teach service management the way I think about it: grounded in ITIL, but fluent across the frameworks around it, so that what people learn connects to the work they actually do rather than staying inside one syllabus. My particular interest is the courses that come after Foundation, where practice owners, managers, and leaders learn to shape how the work gets done.

Two kinds of training

Accredited certification courses

Configured by the accrediting organizations and running from one to five days, these lead to recognized certifications across ITIL, DevOps, and related schemes. I deliver them as an accredited instructor through PeopleCert, the DevOps Institute, DASA, HDI, and HIT Global, working through BiTA Service Management and other established training organizations, including Cornerstone, Learning Tree, and Peopleteam.

Tailored training

When a fixed course is not the right fit, I build training around your situation. Tailored programs run in Swedish or English, draw on any or all of the frameworks I work with (ITIL, DevOps, Lean, Agile, Scrum, Kanban, and SAFe), and range from a half-day session to a program spanning several weeks, delivered on a schedule that meets your needs.

That spread is deliberate. A team wanting a one-day certification and an organization wanting a multi-week program built from several frameworks are at different points, and both should be met where they are.

Beyond Foundation

Foundation courses give people a shared language. The courses after Foundation are where they learn to use it: to run a practice, lead a change, or set direction. These are the courses I most enjoy teaching, and the ones where my consulting experience matters most in the classroom.

I teach the advanced ITIL courses in both current versions:

  • ITIL (Version 5): Product, Service, Experience, Transformation, AI Governance, and the Managing Professional Transition
  • ITIL 4 Practitioner: Incident Management, Problem Management, Change Enablement, Service Desk, and Release Management
  • ITIL 4 Specialist, Strategist, and Leader: Create, Deliver and Support; Drive Stakeholder Value; High-Velocity IT; Monitor, Support and Fulfil; Plan, Implement and Control; Direct, Plan and Improve; and Digital and IT Strategy
  • HDI: Support Center Team Leader

Upcoming public dates are on the Course Calendar. For the two-day ITIL Foundation (Version 5) course, see ITIL Foundation training in Stockholm.

In-house programs

When several people in one organization need the same advanced course, it often makes sense to run it in-house and connect it to your own work. I build these programs around a certification course and add follow-up where it helps most:

  • For practice owners: the ITIL 4 Practitioner courses for the practices you run, followed by a workshop applying them to your own processes.
  • For teams moving to ITIL (Version 5): the Managing Professional Transition for people already certified in ITIL 4, with a session on what the change means for your organization.
  • For leaders: ITIL 4 Strategist or ITIL Transformation (Version 5), together with AI Governance, with optional follow-up advisory or mentoring.

Tell me what your team needs, and we will shape the program together. Certification courses run through BiTA Service Management or another accredited training organization, as the certification requires.

What I am really teaching

I tell nearly every class that I am there for two reasons: to make work-life less frustrating for you and the people you work with, and to make it more efficient and productive for your organization. Everything else serves those two aims.

Who it is for

Teams and individuals working in or around service management: service desk and operations staff, process and practice owners, managers setting direction, and organizations moving to a new framework or version who need their people brought up to speed. Courses suit both people new to a framework and experienced practitioners formalizing what they already do.

Why train with me

Since 2012, I have delivered more than 400 courses to over 4,500 participants across more than 300 organizations, totaling more than 800 days in the classroom, consistently rated above 4.8 out of 5. I am an accredited instructor in ITIL and in DevOps (which includes my Agile teaching), in HDI's support center courses, and in HIT Global's Humanising IT and Humanising AI, and I hold ITIL 4 and ITIL (Version 5) Master certification, among the first to reach it. I am also trained and experienced in Lean, Scrum, Kanban, and SAFe, which I draw on in the classroom and in consulting. That range is the point: you learn a framework from someone who can place it among the others, not in isolation.

A word on exams

ITIL 4 Foundation is the course I have taught most often. Most of my students have taken the exam in English while speaking Swedish, or another language, as their first, and they do well. A few years back, when the global pass rate was around 89 percent, mine at that time was around 94 percent. I mention it not because the exam is the point, but because it is a fair sign that teaching to a room of different backgrounds and first languages works, when you actually teach to all of them. Where a course leads to a certification, passing is a welcome bonus. It confirms you were awake and paying attention, and it is worth having on a CV, a LinkedIn profile, or in a salary conversation. But the exam is not the aim. Using what you learn to accomplish something worthwhile is.

Getting started

Tell me what your team needs, and I will point you in the right direction. I can also let you know about the courses I am teaching next, or start a conversation about a tailored program.

Engagements run through BiTA Service Management or, for contract work, Amsonia AB, and we'll sort the right channel in the first conversation.
